How Is Granite Tile Different From Marble Tile?

Natural marble is metamorphic rock formed by the original rock in the crust through high temperature and high pressure in the crust. It belongs to medium hard stone, mainly composed of calcite, limestone, serpentine and dolomite. Its main component is mainly calcium carbonate, accounting for more than 50%. Others include magnesium carbonate, calcium oxide, manganese oxide, and silicon dioxide. Because marble generally contains impurities, and calcium carbonate is affected by carbon dioxide, carbides, and water vapor in the atmosphere, it is also easily weathered and eroded, and the surface quickly loses its luster. Therefore, a few of the more stable and durable varieties, such as white marble and Ai Yeqing, can be used outdoors. Other varieties are not suitable for outdoor use, and are generally only used for indoor decorative surfaces.
Natural marble can be made into decorative panels for high-end decorative projects. It is used for interior walls, facings, railings, floors, window sills, and services in public buildings such as hotels, exhibition halls, theaters, shopping malls, libraries, airports, and stations. The finishes of doors and elevator doors are ideal interior high-end decorative materials. It can also be used to make marble murals, crafts, and daily necessities.
Natural granite is igneous rock, also known as acidic crystal diagenetic rock. It is the most widely distributed rock in igneous rock. It belongs to hard stone and is composed of feldspar, quartz and mica. ~ 75%. The rock is hard and dense, and it can be divided into three types: "grand crystal", "coarse crystal" and "fine crystal" according to its crystal grain size.
The quality of granite depends on the mineral composition and structure. Granite with good quality, fine and uniform crystal particles, less mica content and more quartz, and does not contain pyrite. Granite is not easily weathered and deteriorated, and its appearance and color can be maintained for more than 100 years, so it is mostly used for wall foundations and exterior wall finishes. Due to its high hardness and abrasion resistance, granite is also often used in advanced building decoration projects, such as the floor of the lobby.
Because granite is harder and acid-resistant than marble, it is more suitable for outdoor balcony, courtyard, guest room floor and window sill in home decoration. Marble can be used for countertops, cooking counters, and countertops.
1. Granite stone: Granite stone does not have colored stripes, most of them only have colored spots, and there are solid colors. The finer the mineral particles, the better, indicating that the structure is tight and strong.
2. Marble slabs: Marble slabs are simple in mineral composition, easy to process, most of them have fine texture, and have good mirror effect. Its disadvantages are that the texture is softer than granite, it is easily damaged when it is struck by hard and heavy objects, and light-colored stone is easily contaminated. Flooring marble should be monochromatic as much as possible. Striped decorative cloth works better when choosing a countertop.
